Enugu State Association WDC fundraising event (Enugu Day)
This
year's Enugu
State Association WDC fundraising event (Enugu Day) is
focused on raising domestic violence awareness in the Nigerian
community, more specifically in Enugu State. The funds raised
will go towards providing
support, resources and financial aid to a Women's
Shelter for Domestic Violence and Widows,
currently located in Enugu, Enugu State Nigeria.
We
will be working directly with Women’s
Aid Collective (WACOL), an
Enugu-based independent,
non-political, non-governmental and non-profit organization whose
mission is to is topromote
a democratic society free from violence and abuse, where all human
rights,
in particular, women and young people are recognized in law and
practice. Funds raised at the gala event will go to WACOL, who
oversees and runs the Women's shelter in Enugu.
As
a sponsor of our event, your
donations and contributions will benefit the joint mission of Enugu
State Association WDC and WACOL, to assist victims of domestic
violence and human rights violations in the areas of training,
research, advocacy, shelter, free legal and financial aid,
intra-familial conflict resolution, and information and library
services.
