Upcoming friendly: Nigeria VS. Mexico on May 31 in Houston Texas


The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Mexico in a friendly on May 31 in Houston, Texas, USA.
Following their astounding performance at the 29th Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa which earned them the right to be called African Champions, the new and improved Super Eagles are billed to represent Africa in the Confederations Cup in June, the tournament will be held in Brazil.

The NFF announced that the African champions will meet Mexico on May 31 in friendly at Reliant Stadium in Houston.
“The Nigeria Football Federation and its Match Agent, Eurodata Sport Marketing Sportivo e Culturale, are pleased to announce that the Super Eagles will play against Mexico’s Senior Team in a friendly match at the Reliant Stadium, Houston, Texas on Friday, May 31, starting from 9pm Texas time,” NFF general secretary Musa Amadu said on Wednesday.

The grade ‘A’ friendly will kick off at 8:00 p.m. local time, 9:00 p.m. ET.

The Super Eagles who are currently atop of their 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying group F will take on Kenya’s Harambee Stars in Nairobi on June 8 before heading to the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil.  Then, another FIFA World Cup qualifying date against Namibia’s Brave Warriors awaits them in Windhoek.

Mexico and Nigeria last met in 2007, with the teams playing out a 2-2 draw at Estadio Olimpico Benito Juarez in Chihuahua, Mexico.
