Africa's favorite Ivory Coast claim victory in their first game of the Nations Cup- Ivory Coast 2- 1 Togo

Africa’s favorites Ivory Coast launched their campaign in the Nations Cup today as they took on Togo at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium, South Africa. The Elephants had a rather sloppy start, early in the first-half, a defensive error from Kolo Toure almost lead to an early point for Togo, however by some luck; the very gifted Emmanuel Adebayor missed the chance.
Current African player of the year Yaya Toure opened the score line in  the game as he help put the Ivorians ahead with a deflected shot from 12 yards right in the first-half, but Togo fought back in the same half when Jonathan Ayite swept in a corner from the right. In the end, a late goal from Arsenal forward Gervinho gave Ivory Coast victory in the first Group D match at the Nations Cup.
several efforts from Togo to even the score failed to produce any result and even when Dare Nibombe did put the ball in the net, it will be ruled out due to a quick corner from the Sparrow Hawks, although they did not win, I say A for effort, they put up a good fight, it’s not easy playing against Africa’s best.
