Africans players in European leagues:performance in the past week


England
-Demba Ba (Senegal) who plays for Newcastle United is the English Premier League’s leading scorer of the week, his double over the weekend which led to a 2-2 at Reading takes him to the top of the scoring charts. Newcastle United’s manager Alan Pardew called Ba’s first goal in the game against Reading “majestic” the two goals brings his overall goal tally for the season to 6.
-Jimmy Kebe (Mali) who plays for Reading as a Winger scored the first goal in the match against Newcastle, however, with Demba Ba's equalizer, the game ended in a draw keeping his side still in the bottom 3.
- Gervais Lombe Yao Kouassi, better known as Gervinho (Ivory Coast) plays for Arsenal FC as a striker. Even with Torres's early strike in Saturday’s game against Chelsea FC, Gervinho's powerful finish put Arsenal level before halftime but the Blues claimed the points early in the second half with Mata's long-range free-kick resulting in the 2-1 victory against Arsenal. Gervinho has 4 goals already in this season.

In France,
- leading is Algerian midfielder FOUED KADIR who plays for Valenciennes, he recently scored one goal and made another as Valenciennes ended Marseille's 100 percent start to the season with a  4-1 win.
-Following is Senegalese YOUNES BELHANDA (Montpellier) and Souleymane Camara (Montpellier), in their second win of the season, Belhanda made the first goal and in the final minutes, Camara guaranteed their 2-0 win at Nancy with a 25-yard drive.
 -Malian striker CHEICK DIABATE (Bordeaux) scored his first goal of the season in the match against the undefeated Lyon, his header sealed Bordeaux’s 2-0.

In Germany,
Cameroon international JOEL MATIP (plays for Schalke) got on the score sheet for the first time this season in a 2-2 draw at Fortuna Dusselforfhis first goal of the season in a 2-2 draw at Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Another Didier, only this one plays for German side Hanover, in a match against Hamburg, Didier Ya Konan came close to scoring again after scoring twice in a 4-1 victory over Nuremberg three days before, unable to make the net however, the game ended in 1-0 defeat for Hanover.

In Spain,
ALEX SONG (Cameroon) who plays for Barcelona played beautifully in 3-2 win over Sevilla
MANUCHO (Angola) who also plays for Valladolid showed he had more to offer the team and in the game against Rayo Vallencano, his performance was exceptional as he produced two goals in a 6-1 win
Nigeria’s Obafemi Martins (Levante) did not do quite well in the match against Osasuna as Levante crashed 4-0. His disappointing performance is coming right after he made an impact with a winning goal in his debut game last week against Real Sociedad. :
For Italy,
-Kwadwo Asamoah (Ghana) who plays for Juventus was recently used as substitute in the second-half of a 4-1 victory over Roma.
-Ghanaian midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng who also plays for AC Millan showed improved performance in a 1-1 draw at Parma.z
