The Flamingoes are going for the CUP

Group A: Nigeria impress, Canada do just enough
Even though Nigeria’s Flamingoes are tied on 7 points with Canada, they still possess a superior goal difference, their pace and power showed their strength in group A. After drawing 1-1 with Canada in the opening match in Group A, the Flamingoes racked up an 11-0 over the Azeris and eventually finished in their group game at the weekend with a 3-0 win over Columbia. The Flamingoes are set on winning the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Azerbaijan. Team’s coach, Peter Dedevbo believes they have all it takes to oust France in the quarterfinal coming up this Thursday at Baku Stadium.
Leading scorer in the competition with 6 goals to her feather and four assists, Chinwendu Ihezuo tells fifa.com-"We are ready for them and believe that we can beat them if we play as a unit and fight till the end. It is going to be a tough game but our coach has told us what to do against them", said Ihezuo, who also has four assists in the tournament.
