Uganda's Little League team shine in their debut appearance.

The Lugazi baseball team from Uganda represented Africa in the Little League Baseball World Series and after a week in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, their first opponent was Panama who are current winners of the Latin America regional. Although Panama has sent 7 teams to the Little League World Series, the first-timers from Uganda still held their ground in the game and even though they lost the game, and the one after which led to their elimination from the tournament, they won a consolation game against the U.S team from Oregon. For the team, history and accomplishment was more of the focus, winning was not the only reason for their participation as the kids achieved their goal of making history for Africa. 11-year old third baseman Ronald Olaa said "I like history"
