Liberia Football Association Battles to get Man City Player before their game against Nigeria.

Alex Nimely with Tony Mowbray

Liberian-born and Manchester City striker Alex Nimley who has featured for England at youth level will most likely switch to play for his homeland in about 48-78 hours if FIFA accepts his request. The Liberian Football Association President Musa Bility confirmed that, if accepted, Nimely could be eligible to play for Liberia  in next month's game against the Super Eagles of Nigeria. According to Bility, "we are trying to work out some formalities and have already started the process. Hopefully we will hear something about our request within the next 48 to 72 hours"

Coming from the heels of a 2-0 win against Ghana's Black Stars and in addition to the two-all draw with the Super Eagles, the completion of the switch could in many ways reinforce the Liberian team.
