After meeting with government officials in Cameroon, Samuel Eto’o Fils is on the verge of rejoining Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions. Eto’o Fils met with Prime Minister Philemon Yang, Sports minister Adoum Garoua, team manager Rigobert Song and Lions coach Jean Paul Akono,  at the meeting, the talk centered more on his come back to the team after ending his international career with the Indomitable Lions. Other issues discussed in the meeting includes the Lions need to qualify for the next African Cup of Nations, also, from the presence of Lions current team manager Rigobert
Song at the meeting, a much needed reconciliation between  Song and Fils was discussed. Since the last South African World Cup, the relationship between Fils and Song has been tense. The issue arose after Fils inherited the Lions’ captaincy from Song.
According to Jean Paul Akono, the return of Eto’o  Fils  for the October 14th game against Cape Verde was not very clear- Akono added, “for now he's ok but he can be put off the pitch by injury. We then keep our fingers crossed and await the final days to the game.”  A public list of 40 players will be made public next week, and from this list, 23 players will be selected for training camp which begins on the 8th of October in Yaounde.
