Road to Brazil: Nigeria VS USA on Saturday June 7th

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will play against the US Men' s National Team on Saturday, June 7th, 2014 at 6 PM ET, the international friendly will be played at the Ever-Bank Field in Jacksonville, FLA.

The USMNT have been placed in one of  the strongest group in the World Cup; they will be playing against Ghana, Portugal, and Germany in Group G in Brazil. The USMNT pulled out two victories in their recent warm-up matches against Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Nigeria will go-head-to-head in a team that will feature world's best player Lionel Messi in their Group F which consists of Argentina, Bosnia, Iran and Nigeria. The Super Eagles are yet to record any win so far after playing out several warm-up matches, they have achieved draws in all their encounters so far, and in what can be considered their last encounter before heading to Brazil for the real deal, they may decide unleash hidden potential in order to record a win. :)
Coach Keshi recently expressed concerns over their performance after the Eagles drew 0-0 in their friendly against Greece, speaking he said:
“In freindlies you can correct your mistakes but in a tournament it can cost us dearly. So we will see how it goes in the next game because that is another chance to improve on their performance."
The visitors will be playing without formidable left-back Elderson Echiejile who sustained a hamstring injury in Tuesday's game against Greece.

This is the second meeting between the USMNT and the Super Eagles of Nigeria; their first encounter was in June 1995 in Foxborough Mass. The USMNT won recorded a 3-2 victory over Nigeria's Eagles.

Players to watch
Nigeria: Chelsea' s Mikel Obi, and team-mate who is currently on loan at Liverpool Victor Moses, both players have the type of strength and balance that only comes with experience and good old skills. Celtics Efe Ambrose will give the USMNT strikers a tough time getting pass the defense and Nigeria's goalkeeper has been spectacular in recent forms.

USMNT: Klinsmann' s men will have to provide a match for Nigeria's strong strikers. Jozy Altidore is definitely not suffering from lack of confidence after seeing his impressive performances in past games especially in recent warm-up  against Turkey. Michael Bradley and Jones will hope to provide some challenge to Nigeria's defense who will be playing without strong defensive player Echiejille.

Both teams will be heading to Brazil on Sunday for the World Cup which starts on June 12th.
