Super Eagles striker, Emenike escape crowd troubles after scoring his ninth for Fenerbahce.


Fenerbahce had to abandon their game in Trabzonspor after crowd troubles on Monday shortly after Nigeria's Emmanuel Emenike scored his ninth goal for his side. Emenike help put the league leaders ahead at the Huseyin Avni Aker Stadium in the 23rd minute, however, the game was called off for safety and security reasons after objects were thrown into the pitch.

Referee Bulent Yildirim opted to call the time on the match after several stoppages, abandoning Fenerbache's all important game against title rivals.

Fener led the standings on 51 points in 23 games, 3 points clear of champions of Galatasaray, who have played 24 games.


According to reports, Emenike and his other teammates were able to escape unhurt despite the objects thrown at them, the Turkish FA will now rule on the game.
