Famous and current footballing siblings

After I recently discovered Manchester United's twin defenders, Fabio and Rafael (yeah I know, missed this oneJ),   I decided to  look up some current footballing siblings, here we go….

*Hazards: Chelsea FC winger Eden Hazard was joined by younger brother Thorgan Hazard, both brothers were singed into the same English club n different seasons. Prior to making the rare decision to play at the same football club, both brothers played for club rivals in the French Ligue 1 (Thorgan for Lens and Eden for Lille).

*Ferdinands: big brothers, Rio plays for Manchester United as defender while younger brother Anton currently plays for QPR player. Rio has had an amazing career so far, the 35-year-old player has earned the title of world’s most expensive defender twice, first was when he joined Leeds United from West Ham for £18 million and then on his transfer to Man-U for £30 million. Although younger brother Anton may not have earned the same title, he however graduated from West Ham Youth academy and currently plays for Queens Park Rangers with an annual salary of 2.3 Million pounds.

*The Kalous: both brothers play for the Ivorian national team, and together, the pair have made over 100 appearances for their country. Another thing this two brothers share is that they have both play in the French Ligue. Older brother Bonaventure has made his name at Feynoord and later in Ligue 1 Auxerre and Paris Saint-Germain, like his big brother, Salomon also arrived on French shores, where he signed a contract with Lille.

that awkward moment when you have to play against your own brother
*The Boatengs: while older brother Kevin-Prince Boateng plays as midfielder for AC Milan, his brother Jerome, a defender plays for Bayern Munich. Both brothers were born and raised in Germany. However, while Kevin opted to play for Ghana, their father‘s native country, Jerome choose to play for Germany. A rare incident occurred in the 2010 World Cup group stage, it was the first time two brothers had been on the field for opposing teams in an international game.

*The Toures: currently at Premier League champions Manchester City, and Liverpool FC have been one of the most prolific brothers in football history. Older brother Kolo, previously of Arsenal now plays for Liverpool FC while Yaya, previously of Barcelona has remained with Manchester City. Both brothers were together at Manchester City after Yaya joined in the summer of 2010, however, Kolo transferred in 2013 to Liverpool. Both are key players for the Ivory Coast national side, and they also have another brother, Ibrahim, who plays professionally.

*Da Silva twins: twin power at its best, Brazilian twins, Fabio and Rafael Da Silva both play for Manchester United. The handsome pair where both signed by Manchester United in 2007 and although Cardiff City still remain in the race to sign Fabio Da Silva, for now, the 23-year old twins still play  for Manchester United and the Brazilian national team as defenders.

Cousins
*Alex Song and Rigobert Song:Arsenal and Cameroon  midfielder Alex Song is the cousin of legendary Cameroonian defender Rigobert Song, who recorded 138 caps for his country between 1993 and 2010.
