Samuel Eto’o has signed a 1-year contract with English side (a.k.a, the best team in the world) Chelsea FC, Chelsea signed the 32-year-old striker on a free transfer from Russian club Anzhii Makhachkala. On finalizing his transfer the Cameroonian international said: 'I am very happy to be here but also anxious because I want to get playing as soon as possible.
'It wasn't a hard decision. I saw the qualities Chelsea have, and I was very happy with Jose Mourinho before, so when the opportunity came, I was very happy to take it.'Chelsea FC.

Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho and Samuel Eto’o have indeed come a long way and this in many ways was a reunion waiting to happen- Mourinho was Eto'o's boss at Inter Milan when they won the Champions League in 2010.

Aside from being one of the best players to come out of Africa, Samuel Eto’o has always been at his best throughout his career. Eto’o started early when he joined the Real Madrid Youth Academy in 1997 and later embarked on loan spells with Leganes, Espanyol and Real Mallorca. The highlight of his young career came when he scored twice to help his side to a 3-0 win over Recreativo in the 2003 Copa del Rey final. He completed his move to Barcelona in 2004 after becoming Mallorca’s all-time leading league goal-scorer. During his time with Barcelona, Eto’o came third in FIFA’S World player of the year award; he had an impressive time at Barcelona scoring 152 goals in 232 appearances. However in 2009, the moved to Italian side Inter-Milan under the guidance of his current Manager Mourinho who was Inter’s manager at the time. The 4-time African player of the year then moved to Russian side Anzhi in 2011 after ending his two year-spell with Inter where he scored a total of 53 goals in 102 appearances.

Mourinho moved for Eto'o after two Chelsea bids for Manchester United's Wayne Rooney were rejected.
