Cristiano Ronaldo scores the winner as Man-U crash out of the Champions League

Landmark: Giggs made his 1,000th appearance in a United shirt on the night
Talk about biting the finger that fed you, Real Madrid’s Ronaldo in today’s crucial game against Manchester United dangled his talent in their face as he scored the winning goal against his former team.
It was indeed a tight clash until Nani was sent off, but Madrid took full advantage of their one-man advantage by scoring two goals within 3 minutes.

Sir Alex Ferguson stunned many by leaving Wayne Rooney out of the starting line-up for Manchester United, and after an unproductive first-half, hosts Man-U took the lead early in the second half courtesy of an own goal from Sergio Ramos. Although it seems Man- U fought for their chance to keep their lone goal advantage, Nani’s exit led to a more subdued side as Madrid took advantage ruthlessly with two goals in three minutes from ex-Tottenham midfield man Luka Modric and former United golden boy Cristiano Ronaldo to move into the last eight.

Despite several attempts, the Red Devils double their point and in the end, it was Madrid’s goalkeeper Diego Lopez dramatic saves that kept the score the same: Real Madrid 2- 1 Manchester United

Real Madrid forges ahead to the quarterfinal of the Champions League on a tie 3-2 aggregate as an enraged Manchester United crash out of the tournament, ouch!
