2014 World Cup qualifiers:Nigeria vs Kenya return leg match rescheduled.

Football Kenya Federation, FKF has confirmed that the date for 2014 World Cup qualifier match between Nigeria and Kenya has been changed. The World Cup organizing committee rescheduled the date for the second leg of the qualifiers which was initially scheduled for March 22 to June 7th. 2013.

Following their recent AFCON victory, the Super Eagles will be heading to the Confederations Cup in Brazil almost at the same period.

“The World Football Governing Body FIFA has communicated to Football Kenya Federation on the possibility of changing the dates for the Kenya, Nigeria Brazil World Cup qualifier,”
The  statement from FIFA:“This has arisen due to Nigeria’s qualification to represent Africa in the FIFA confederations Cup to be played in Brazil from 15th to 23rd June 2013. The world cup organizing committee has therefore requested Kenya to reschedule the return leg at least two days before the 10th of June that means the match be played between 6th or 7th of June,” the statement read.

The exact date for the encounter would be revealed after a FIFA executive meeting on March 19. Nigeria are top of a qualifying group that has Malawi, Namibia and Kenya with four points.
