Keshi to name squad for World Cup qualifiers next week

Super Eagles head coach Stephen Keshi will release the list of players slated to be in his team for the World Cup qualifier’s clash against Kenya next week, no new player from the NPL will be added said Keshi.
Nigeria will play host to the Harambee Stars in Calabar on March 23. 2013

Nigeria is currently top of Group F with 4 points, while Kenya are bottom of the standings with 1 point after both teams have played two games each. Nambia and Malawi are the other teams in this group.

The big question ringing in everyone’s ears is whether or not the likes of Osaze Odemwingie, Obafemi Martins and other old Eagles stars will be in the line-up for the Eagles, or will the saga if exclusion continue.

Odemwingie has said he could still return to the Super Eagles if things are done properly.

The West Brom striker was left out of the 2013 AFCON by Eagles coach Stephen Keshi, who has now said his decision was because of the player’s “character problems”.

Speaking on his decision to return Osaze tweeted -"I am not seeking a comeback (to the national team) as I have showed you last year I am not so interested now. If things get straight forward maybe one day,"

It will be nice to see some of the old faces, but with their recent achievements and status as African Champions, it’s hard to say if Keshi will reconsider his decision.
