Cote d’Ivoire coast to the quarterfinals while Togo are back in contention in Nations Cup Group D

Ivory Coast's 3-0 win over Tunisia at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg on Saturday puts the Elephants in charge of Group D of the Nations Cup.
Arsenal FC forward Gervinho opened the scoring for Africa’s favorite in the first half of the game and late goals from African Footballer of the year Yaya Toure, and Didier Ya Konan added to a score line in the closing minute of the game. Even with the absence of Ivorian legend Didier Drogba in the first-hald, the Elephants were ever so spirited as they went on to claim 6 points in Group D putting them straight through to the quarterfinals of the Nations Cup.

Algeria are out of the Africa Cup of Nations after Togo beat them 2-0. Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor put the Togolese ahead in the first half, while Substitute Dove Wome doubled their lead in extended injury time, after referee Hamada Namplandraza added 13 minutes.
Although Algeria fought to come back, they were however unable to find and equalizer and the second goal from Togo plunged their chances of gaining any point in Group D.

Togo and Tunisia will play for Group D's other quarterfinal spot in their final group-stage match.
