New contract renewal means Mikel will remain at Stamford Bridge till 2017.

Nigerian international John Mikel Obi has signed a new 5-year contract, the renewal of his contract means he will be with Chelsea FC till 2017. The 25-year-old midfielder joined the Blues in the summer of 2006, with his new contract, Mikel will eventually complete 11 years with at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking after signing his contract, the Nigerian International said : "Chelsea seems like my home now because I have been here for over six years and I enjoy my time here. I come into the training ground every day to work and I value my time there. I am happy and want to keep going and win trophies for this club."-chelseafc.com
