12-year-old boy shot and killed by police in Cleveland, Ohio

As we await the results from the grand Jury decision in Ferguson MO over the killing of 18-year-old African American Micheal Brown JR., a police officer in Cleveland Ohio has shot and killed a 12-year-old boy. The shooting happened on Saturday following a 911 call about someone waving a gun, police responded to the report of a male with a gun, the man who called dispatchers said that the boy was at a recreation center pointing a pistol that was “probably fake” ad scaring everyone. The 911 caller said the boy was pulling the gun in and out of his pants but was unsure if it was a toy or an actual weapon- “I don't know if its real or not,” the caller said.

Deputy Chief Ed Tomba said the officer fired twice after the boy puled the fake weapon-which was lacking the orange indicator usually on the muzzle-from his waistband.

According to Deputy Chief, the now deceased boy did not make any verbal threats towards the officer or point the gun, but reached into his waistband and grabbed the toy gun after being told to raise his hands. “ That's when the officer fired” he said

Police have stated that the boy was holding an airsoft type replica gun that bares much similarity to a semi-automatic pistol. The orange safety indicator had been removed.

.Praying for the family of this young boy, its a shame.
