UEFA Champions League: Final 8
Eight clubs from 4
countries will feature in the UEFA Champions league quarter final
from April 1 through the 9th, the quarter final draw was
held in Nyon, Switzerland this past Friday.
Friday's draw
produced an all-Spanish tie and a repeat of a thrilling semi-final
from last season. FC Barcelona who are in contention with Real Madrid
for the Spanish league title and Atletico de Madrid will meet in the
UEFA competition for the first time. Current Champions Bayern Munich
will face English side Manchester United . Four years ago, it was
Bayern that eliminated United from the Champions last 8 on away
goals.
Chelsea FC who made their presence known with their 6-0 victory over
Arsenal in Premier League Saturday's game will take on French side Paris Saint
Germain. In the 2004/2005 group stage, the Blues defeated PSG 3-0 in
the French capital and drew 0-0 at Stamford Bridge. Bayern Munich's
close contenders, Borussia Dortmund will reunite with Real Madrid in
the quarterfinals. Both sides clashed 11 months ago.
