World Cup Qualifiers Results:Nigeria 1-1 Namibia

The Super Eagles of Nigeria were able to secure their top spot in their Group F of WCQ Wednesday after Godfrey Oboabona equalized with 7 minutes remaining in the game after Namibia scored the first goal in the 75th minute.

Substitute Deon Hotto Kavendji put the Brave Warriors ahead six minutes earlier at the Sam Nujoma Stadium, however, Sunshine Stars captain Godfrey Oboabona made up for the mistake that led to the Namibia goal when he equalized for Nigeria seven minutes from time.

The current African champions needed a win in Windhoek to take an indisputable four-point lead in their group; however, things did not go quite as planned as the Super Eagles will now have to wait till September to reach the final stage of the World Cup qualifiers.
Nigeria are now on nine points from five matches, while Malawi have seven points. Namibia are third with five points, while Kenya have three points.
For the final Group F matches in September, Nigeria host Malawi, who must now beat the Super Eagles to qualify and Namibia will be away in Kenya, who both have been eliminated mathematically.
