Obafemi Martins confirms move to MLS side Seattle Sounders.

Super Eagles striker Obafemi Martins was finally cleared by Spanish side Levante to join Seattle Sounders in the MLS of the USA. early Monday.

The 28-year-old Nigerian international announced his transfer via twitter Monday evening:
Martins tweeted-“Wow..Finally,I can now announce that I have just signed for Sounders FC..A big step to take in my career. It’s a big challenge but I'm ready”
He also added- “This is so difficult for me to do, but I really do love my fans. Levante fans are the best... I will always cherish the time I played here.
 “I will like to thank Levante UD for giving me a great opportunity to play in one of the best leagues in the world..."

After very lengthy negotiations, coupled with issues of replacement, Sounders are believed to have paid off the striker's get-out clause with Levante.

Martins is no stranger to transfers, from his days in Inter Milan, Newcastle United, Birmingham City, Wolfsburg, Rubin Kazan to his now former club Levante, the Super Eagles returnee has definitely had his fair share of transfers. 

His move to Seattle Sounders will add the Nigerian striker to a list of top players who have joined the MLS over the past couple of years. Some top players who have joined the MLS include Thierry Henry who joined the New York Red Bulls in 2010 after leaving Barcelona, David Beckham, and Robbie Keane both men played for L.A Galaxy, Beckham moving to PSG this year while Keane is still with Galaxy.
