Roberto Carlos is on Cristiano Ronaldo's side for the 2012 Ballon d'Or

Ahead of FIFA’s 2012 Ballon d’Or, Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos has chosen Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of Barcelona forward Lionel Messi. In a recent interview, Carlos stated “Obviously everyone’s talking about [Lionel] Messi, but I reckon he’s won enough and there cannot be much more room in his trophy cabinet. Therefore, I’d vote for Cristiano Ronaldo. He’s someone who can win matches for you many different ways, from varying situations in attack. He deserves to win it again.” Fifa.com

Given his record breaking season which earned him a total of 73 goals for Barcelona in all competition last term,  Messi is listed ahead of his Real Madrid counterpart, however both Ronaldo and Messi are in the lead to claim the award which will be presented in January, 2013.
Even though I am not one of Messi’s greatest fan, he has managed to become one of the greatest player of our time, if he wins the Ballon d'Or again, it will be the fourth consecutive triumph for him, this could will be a tough race as Messi is the only player to have won the award since Ronaldo claimed the trophy in 2008 while he was still with Manchester United.
What’s your pick? Ronaldo or Messi, I suggest they add Ibrahimovic to the list; he sure deserves the award after such a brilliant performance on Sunday.
