Cameroon football legend Abega dead

Cameroon Football Federation announced last Thursday the
death of former Cameroon captain and midfielder Theophile Abega at the age of
58. Abega led Cameroon in their very
first African Cup of Nations title in 1984 in Ivory Coast, in the same year,
the former team captain was named African Footballer of the year.
He spent the majority of his playing career at Canon Yaounde,
Abega later played at Toulouse in France and Vevey Sport in Switzerland before
retiring at the age of 33. He served as mayor of a district in Yaounde for four
years.
