Cost of newly renovated National stadium in Abuja, Nigeria revealed.

National Sport Commission director
of Finance Mustapha Mohammed revealed the cost of the newly renovated National
Stadium in a statement while answering questions from members of the House Committee on Sports. Mohammed stated that the newly renovated stadium cost a whopping
N96.6M
in his statement he also revealed that the NSC still
owes contractor, Julius Beger 11 million naira.
"The entire work on the pitch cost us 96.6 million naira. The amount covers also for six month maintenance" he said
"We paid the money in three installments and we are still owing the contractor 11 million which is supposed to be paid at month end" he added.

Going by what happened during the launch
of the renovated stadium, it looks like more work still needs to be done, some
of the main areas that require immediate attention include the pitch and the
power system in the stadium. Spectators experienced power outage during the
launch of the newly renovated stadium last week and the pitch in the stadium retained
water after light showers lavished the ceremony.
