An emotional reunion for Cristiano Ronaldo and Sir Ferguson in Real Madrid and Manchester United 1-1 match

Danny Welbeck and Cristiano Ronaldo headed a first-half goal apiece as Real Madrid and Manchester United played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the last-16 of the Champions League on Wednesday.
Former Man-United star Ronaldo drew level after 30 minutes with his 7th Champions League goal of the season, making him the top-scorer in the competition after Danny Welbeck's opener sensational header for Man-U.

This was Ronaldo’s first return to Old Trafford ever since he left for Real Madrid in 2009. It was an emotional reunion, the Portuguese international refused to celebrate after  canceling out Welbeck’s opener.

Speaking on his return performance, former Manager, Ferguson said: 'I think it's difficult for Cristiano playing against us, his old team,' added Ferguson. There's a little bit of emotion attached to it for him because he had so many great years for us.
'But when he gets the ball you're praying, more than anything.'

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was full of praise for his former student, speaking on his spectacular goal, the Manager said: “What a header. Unbelievable. You can't stop that,' Ferguson said of Ronaldo's goal. 'The spring, the way he holds himself in the air, the power in the header. I said to Patrick Evra at half-time, "you didn't challenge for that". And when I saw the video I thought, "what was I talking about?”

Both sides will meet  once again for the return leg in three weeks,  but before their meeting, Madrid are faced with the challenge of facing their  arch-rivals Barcelona before making the trip to Manchester.
