Chelsea
stars John Mikel Obi and Didier Drogba join forces with World's
Football’s governing body FIFA and health experts to raise
awareness and promote simple preventive measures in the fight against
Ebola.
Drogba
and Mikel are among a host of footballers around Europe's big clubs
who have come together to raise awareness in the fight against the
Ebola virus.
The
campaign, 11 Against Ebola features Drogba and Mikel along with Real
Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo, Barcelona’s Neymar, and Bayern Munich's
Philipp Lahm among other stars selected with the help of doctors and
health experts from Africa, the World Bank and the World Health
Organization who are tracking the deadly disease in West Africa.
Each
player shares a message in the fight against Ebola with the help of
animated film, radio content, banners, posters and pictures in the
multimedia campaign launched today. Former Blue Samuel Eto'o and
Christian Atsu who is currently on loan at Everton along with Stoke
City's Peter Odemwingie and Tottenham's Adebayor are all part of the
campaign.
The
slogan, 'Together we can beat Ebola is accompanied with a hashtag
#wecanbeatebola.
