Welcome
to the 2014 World Cup, its been 4 years coming. The World Cup starts today, Thursday, June 12, 2014.
Countless
fans from various countries will be flying into Sao Paulo/Congonhas
Airport for the 2012 FIFA World Cup, and for their pleasure, a
breathtaking sight will be waiting to greet them in the lobby.
Brazilian
artist Paulo Consentino recently painted a mural of Cristiano
Ronaldo, Mario Balotelli, Andres Iniesta, Frank Ribery, Lionel Messi,
and Neymar in the airport's lobby.
Consentino has done very beautiful
football art work through the years, he painted a stunning design in
the dressing room and player's tunnel at Brazilian club Santos and
has also created the wall of the airport with a series of images
which inclues Zagallo and Carlos Alberto showing off the trophy from
the plane in 1970. He also painted funky haired Ronaldo celebrating a
goal against Germany in the Korea/Japan 2002 finals.
Today's
opening match between host nation Brazil VS. Croatia will be held at
the Arena de Sao Paulo as well as the game between Uruguay-England,
Netherlands-Chile, Korea Republic-Belgium in the group stage, one
round of 16 games and the second semi-final game.
Be
sure to check out this beautiful artwork as you pass through the
airports, bon voyage!
