Roma completes £7m signing of Gervinho from Arsenal.

Roma has completed their £7m signing of Ivorian forward Gervinho from Arsenal. Gervinho joined Arsenal from French club Lille in the summer of 2011, and went on to score four times in his first season with the Club, making an important contribution as the Gunners finished third to secure Champions League football.

The 26-year-old forward has not shown much improvement ever since arriving in 2011 and will once more work under Roma manager Rudi Garcia, who inspired him to perhaps his finest form while at Lille. In 2012/13, the 26-year old started the season impressively, netting five times in his first seven appearances in all competitions. After a spell at the African Cup of Nations where he scored twice for the Ivory Coast, the forward returned to play a crucial part in the Premier League run-in, hitting two more goals in the wins over Swansea City and Reading.

He is the latest to leave Arsenal as Arsene Wenger continues to trim his under-performing squad.
Roma Manager Garcia who already has in total this summer signed 13 players said-"I’m happy with (Gervinho's) signing, as I was happy with the captures of Morgan De Sanctis and Kevin Strootman,'
'Gervinho is a quick player, he’s good at going deep and he has different characteristics to other players.'
