CSKA Moscow defeated Samuel Eto’o
Side Anzhi on penalties in Sunday's cup final to clench the Russian league
and cup double. Nigeria's Ahmed Musa and Ivory Coast's Seydou Doumbia
scored the crucial goals for CSKA Moscow as they beat Anzhi Makhachkala on
penalties in the Russian Cup final.
In Sunday’s cup final, former JUTH FC of Jos forward Ahmed Musa put his club ahead in the 10th minute, before Lassana Diarra equalised for Anzhi in the 74th minute.
Just 3 minutes to stoppage time,
CSKA were down to 10 men when Swedish midfielder Pontus Wernbloom was shown a
straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Ivory Coast striker Lacina
Traore.
The cup winners were then decided
on penalties with CSKA shading their rivals 4-3.
It is the seventh time CSKA have
won the Cup since the fall of the Soviet Union.
