2013 FIFA Confederation Cup: Nigeria scores 6 goals in their opening match against Tahiti

Representing Africa, the Super Eagles of Nigeria crushed Tahiti 6-1 in the two sides opening Group B match at the ongoing FIFA Confederations Cup. 

Confederation Cup debutants Tahiti conceded their very first goal when Tahitian Nicolas Vallar headed in from a corner in their opening match in Brazil just 5 minutes into the game into his own net.  Shortly after Tahiti registered  the first goal in the game for Nigeria, Super Eagles Nnamdi Oduamadi's hat trick fired the Super Eagles to the top of FIFA Confederations Cup Group B in 6-1 rout of Tahiti as Oduamadi went on to score twice both in the 10th and 26th minute of the first-half.

Tahiti remained solid in the first-half of the game despite being down by 3 goals. The Oceania champions were rewarded with a goal of their own in 54th minute when Jonathan Tehau thumped in a thunderous header from a Marama Vahirua corner.

Oduamadi, AGAIN, made an attempt in the 66th minute however his effort was ruled out as offside. Tahiti made another history today as Jonathan Tehua became the only person in history to score at both ends in the Confederation Cup when he scored an own goal in the 68th minute
Oduamadi completed his hat trick eight minutes later with another close range shot after some excellent work by Brown Ideye.
Elderson sealed the Super Eagles goal firing on the rebound after some neat work from Oduamadi.

Despite arriving Brazil with only a few hours to spare,  the Super Eagles go top of Group B on three points, they are level with Spain but with a superior goal difference.

    nigeria should be ready for greater match ahead of them .more effort,seriousness and determination to win there next match

    The battle questing for the best just began. Tahiti is a walk in the park but teams like Spain, Mexico and Brazil will be test of strenght for the Eagles. Beware.(Gaz Matrix)

    Those goals are really great, their effort for the FIFA World Cup 2014 is really shown, I hope they can continue to the top.
