Dominating the game early in Cape
Town, South Africa’s Matlaba scored the first goal for his side in the 33rd
minute in their World Cup qualifying victory over the Central African
Republic.
The Orlando Pirates and South African defender Thabo Matlaba scored the stunning goal for his country from about 25-yards out which sailed neatly into the top right corner.
South Africa wrapped up the victory with only 20 minutes left in the game with a left footed strike from Bernard Parker.
Bafana Bafana sits second in Group A, 2 points behind Ethiopia in Round 2. They must win the group to qualify for Round 3, when ten teams play home and away for five places at next summer's tournament.
