In an
interview with BBC’s Okwuche, Reading midfielder Hope Akpan reveals his intention to follow in in the
footsteps of Victor Moses and play for Nigeria at international level.
Born in
Liverpool, United Kingdom, to Nigerian parents, Akpan joined Reading from
League One side Crawley Town in the January transfer window. Although he is eligible to play for England, the 21-year-old midfielder has set his sights on
becoming a Super Eagle.
When asked if his decision was
based on the Eagles recent success, Akpan replied that their performance has in
many ways inspired him and after seeing Victor Moses represent Nigeria, he is even more inspired and hopes to be part of the Super Eagles squad.
