Keshi recalls Obafemi Martins for World Cup qualifiers.


Levante striker, Obafemi Martins has been recalled by Nigeria in a 15-man list of overseas players for this month's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Kenya.
The 28-year-old forward who has been in the middle of transfer tussles was recalled by Super Eagles head Coach, Keshi after missing out of the squad to the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
Eleven of the players that helped Nigeria win the AFCON championship were called except for Spartak Moscow forward Emenike, an injured Emmanuel Emenike has been left out of the World Cup qualifier squad against Kenya, while Obafemi Martins was included in the list
Emenike is yet to recover fully from a hamstring injury which he suffered during last month’s AFCON in South Africa. 

A host of both old and new faces were left out of the list; Newcastle United Forward, Shola Ameobi Peter Odemwingie, Taye Taiwo and Kalu Uche were left out of Coach Keshi’s list.
Bringing in a little change, Keshi has also added some new faces in the team, Ukraine-based Babatunde Michael, Academica de Coimbra's John Ogu and the very talented former Under-23 midfielder Nnamdi Oduamadi all made the cut.

Midfielders: John Mikel Obi (Chelsea FC, England); Ogenyi Onazi (SS Lazio, Italy); Fegor Ogude (Valerenga FC, Norway); John Ogu (Academica de Coimbra, Portugal)

Forwards: Ahmed Musa (CSKA Moscow, Russia); Brown Ideye (Dynamo Kyiv, Ukraine); Victor Moses (Chelsea FC, England); Babatunde Michael (Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine); Nnamdi Oduamadi (A.S Varese 1910 FC, Italy); Obafemi Martins (Levante FC, Spain)
