The Confederation of
African Football (CAF) has placed a ban on Tunisian Referee, Slim Jdidi after
his controversial performance in Wednesday’s semifinal match between Ghana and
Burkina Faso.
CAF’s Secretary
General Hicham El-Amrani expressed that the Football body was displeased with the standard of refereeing in the game and has asked Jdidi to step aside from the
competition.
In the very
controversial game, Referee Jdidi denied Burkina Faso a 5th minute penalty,
disallowed an extra-time goal before sending off midfielder Jonathan Petroipa
for a second bookable offence in the second half of extra time.
Burkina Faso went on to win the game 3-2 on post-match penalties after finishing 1-1 at the end of extra-time.

CAF has acknowledged the appeal of the Burkinabe football federation for suspended striker Jonathan Pitroipa.
Jdidi becomes the
second official to be suspended by the football governing body from the 2013
Nations Cup. Egyptian referee Gheed who handled the group D match between
Nigeria and Zambia was also suspended following a dubious penalty he
awarded to Zambia's Chipolopolo.

Hopefully they are investigating the possibilty that the betting may have influenced the decisions made by the referee
