Over 50,000
FIFPro professional players sent in their votes, and elected the following
FIFA/FIFPro World XI for 2012:
IKER
CASILLAS, DANI ALVES, MARCELO, GERARD PIQUÉ, SERGIO RAMOS, ANDRÉS INIESTA, XABI
ALONSO, XAVI HERNANDEZ, CRISTIANO RONALDO, RADAMEL FALCAO, and LIONEL MESSI.
Going by the
votes from the professional players who picked the FIFA FIFPro World XI of
2012, it is quite clear they did not look any further than La Liga for the
majority of their selections, no variety in their selection.
Representing
five countries in all, every one of players on the list have their root in the
Spanish top flight. The dream team of 2012 consists of five Real Madrid
players, five from Barcelona and one from Atletico Madrid.
It would have
been nice to at least add the likes of Demba Ba, or even, Frank Lampard to
spice up the list, so here's your challenge, professional or non-professional,
CREATE your OWN list World XI Players, just for fun :-)
